Jimmy Garoppolo admitted to making a mistake that led to his two-game suspension for breaking the NFL’s rules on performance-enhancing substances. The new backup quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams explained to reporters that he messed up the process for obtaining a therapeutic use exemption.

Although the medication was prescribed, Garoppolo accepted responsibility for not getting the necessary approval from the NFL. He will be allowed to join off-season activities, but he’ll have to stay away from team facilities during his suspension for the first two regular-season games.

Garoppolo expressed optimism about the team’s performance during his absence, hoping for wins in those initial matches. Despite the setback, he emphasized the need to stay positive and keep moving forward.

The seasoned player signed a one-year contract with the Rams after spending a year with the Las Vegas Raiders. Last season, he faced challenges with injuries, missing several games due to a back injury and concussion, leading to his release from the Raiders.

Looking ahead, Garoppolo is eager to adapt to Coach Sean McVay’s offensive system, which shares roots with the coaching style of Mike Shanahan. He finds comfort in the familiar faces among the coaching staff and is excited about the potential of playing alongside talented teammates.
