In a candid interview on “Fox & Friends” that aired Monday, former President Donald Trump shared insights into his morning routine, revealing personal details about his habits and current challenges. The rare admission came in response to a viewer’s question about how he starts his day.

“So, I don’t sleep a lot,” Trump said. “I don’t say that as a badge of courage. You know, a lot of people are ‘I don’t sleep,’ and they maybe do. I rarely eat breakfast. I don’t ― it’s funny. I love food, but I don’t necessarily — I’m too anxious.”

Despite the pressures he faces, Trump expressed a paradoxical enjoyment of life: “I really enjoy life. It’s crazy. I shouldn’t enjoy life — I get indicted, I get impeached.” This remark prompted laughter from hosts Pete Hegseth, Will Cain, and Rachel Campos-Duffy.

Trump’s anxiety may partly stem from his recent legal challenges. He was convicted for concealing hush money payments to an adult film star to prevent news of their alleged affair from surfacing before the 2016 election. Additionally, he is contending with the implications of running for president again while his sentencing date approaches, along with navigating three other criminal cases.

The former president also detailed his media consumption habits, which remain centered heavily around watching Fox News. According to Trump, this has been a consistent part of his routine, even during his presidency. “I still watch a lot of the conservative channel ― and that would be an understatement,” he mentioned.

A report by The New York Times highlighted that during his presidency, Trump could watch up to seven hours of cable news before beginning his official duties at noon, much of it being Fox News. He even provided a glimpse into the specific shows that dominate his viewing schedule. “I watched Fox Business, I watched Lou Dobbs last night, Sean Hannity last night, Tucker [Carlson] last night, Laura [Ingraham],” he recounted. “I watched ‘Fox & Friends’ in the morning. You watch these shows, you don’t have to go too far into the details. They cover things that are, it’s really an amazing thing.”

Trump’s open discussion about his personal anxieties and extensive media consumption offers a unique look into how he manages the complexities of his life and stays informed, despite the ongoing legal and political turmoil surrounding him.
