Are you “Ready for it?” Because Taylor Swift fans certainly are. On Tuesday, “August” 27, the Swifties are gearing up for the “End Game,” rallying behind a new cause with the Swifties for Kamala campaign. This grassroots movement is all about electing Vice President Kamala Harris, with organizers hoping to make this “The Best Day” and “Better than Revenge,” so they won’t look back in November saying “Could’ve, Would’ve, Should’ve.”

Swifties for Kamala, a collective of Taylor Swift fans, is set to host a kickoff call on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The virtual event will feature special guest speakers, though the coalition doesn’t expect an appearance from Swift herself. As of now, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Representative Chris Deluzio are confirmed to join the call.

The campaign began shortly after President Joe Biden announced he would not seek re-election in 2024. Emerald Medrano, a 22-year-old Swiftie from Texas, felt compelled to take action. “I feel like us US Swifties should mass organize and help campaign for Kamala Harris and spread how horrendous Project 2025 would be to help get people’s butts down to the polls in November,” Medrano posted, sparking the formation of the coalition.

Within days, Swifties for Kamala gained tens of thousands of followers across social media. The Swifties 4 Kamala TikTok account now boasts nearly 122,000 followers. “I began S4K because I believe in the best parts of Swifties,” Medrano explained. “In our kindness, our humor, our passion. I knew that, as Swifties, we could unite and create something beautiful.”

While the group enjoys memes like the “If you asked us on a Deeper Level” trend and montages of Harris set to Swift’s music, their channels are also deeply committed to policy advocacy. The Swifties for Kamala Substack provides resources for people to become poll workers, understand the implications of Project 2025, and sign up for phone banking. The platform has highlighted issues like reproductive rights, the child tax credit, LGBTQ+ rights, and calls for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Although Taylor Swift has not yet endorsed a candidate for the 2024 election, fans are eagerly awaiting her decision. The singer, once known for her apolitical stance, became more vocal in recent years, endorsing Joe Biden in 2020. Swift has publicly criticized former President Donald Trump, accusing him in 2020 of “stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” and endangering millions of lives to retain power.

Trump, meanwhile, used falsified AI images of Swift to endorse him on social media, later claiming he was unaware of the images’ origins.

As Swift prepares to restart her Eras Tour in October, with stops in Florida, Louisiana, and Indiana just before the election, her fans continue to mobilize, hoping to make a significant impact in the 2024 race.
