Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy encountered a chilly reception while attempting to engage with attendees at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night. While Doocy had managed to interact amicably with other attendees earlier in the week, one individual proved less than welcoming during his live coverage.

The moment occurred during an episode of Jesse Watters Primetime, where host Jesse Watters cut to Doocy, who was reporting live from the convention floor. It was just hours before Vice President Kamala Harris was scheduled to deliver her acceptance speech for the presidential nomination.

“The headliner tonight will be Vice President Harris,” Doocy mentioned as he began his segment. He then approached a group of attendees who were seated and attentively listening to a speech. However, when Doocy tried to engage with one of the attendees, he was met with a cool response, indicating that not everyone was eager to speak with the Fox News reporter.

Adding to the tension was a rumor circulating just before Doocy’s live segment, which was fueled by a report from TMZ suggesting that Beyoncé might make a surprise performance at the convention. This speculation added an extra layer of excitement and perhaps distraction among the convention-goers.

This wasn’t Doocy’s first bump in the road during the convention. On Wednesday, he was provided with incorrect information by a convention worker about what the signs for vice presidential nominee Tim Walz would say, adding to the challenges he faced in covering the event.

While Doocy’s experience highlighted the occasional tension between the media and political attendees, it also underscored the lively and unpredictable nature of covering a major political convention, especially one as high-stakes as the Democratic National Convention leading into the 2024 presidential election.
