MSNBC legal analyst Danny Cevallos discussed a crucial recording involving Donald Trump and RNC chair Ronna McDaniel about Michigan’s 2020 presidential election vote certification. This evidence is expected to play a significant role in special counsel Jack Smith’s presentation in Judge Tanya Chutkan’s court.

According to a report by Raw Story, In a discussion led by “Morning Joe” substitute host Jonathan Lemire, Cevallos highlighted the potential legal implications for Trump. He emphasized that federal court, based on his experience defending federal criminal cases, is challenging for defense attorneys due to the government’s proficiency.

Cevallos explained that the Michigan evidence might be used as what is known in legal terms as 404-B, or prior bad act evidence. This type of evidence can be admissible under certain conditions in a prosecution case.

He suggested that Smith could leverage evidence from Michigan or other states in the D.C. court case to demonstrate a pattern in Trump’s actions, indicating they were not accidental but part of his usual method of operation. Such evidence, Cevallos noted, is often powerful and persuasive to juries.
