The Georgia Bulldogs have taken a significant hit in the latest AP Top 25 rankings, falling nine spots to No. 11 after a 28-10 loss, according to the Fox Sports. Previously positioned at No. 2, Georgia now sits just ahead of Miami, who also experienced a tough fall after a road loss to Georgia Tech. The Hurricanes slipped from No. 4 to No. 12, marking an eight-spot drop in the rankings.

Oregon continues to hold the top position after a strong home win against Maryland, solidifying their undefeated record at 10-0. Ohio State moved up to No. 2, capitalizing on Georgia’s loss. Texas jumped two spots to secure the No. 3 ranking, while Penn State also rose two spots, now sitting comfortably at No. 4. Indiana completes the top five, climbing three spots after a gritty 20-15 home win against Michigan.

The rest of the top ten showcases Tennessee, BYU, Notre Dame, Alabama, and Ole Miss. Notably, BYU pulled off an impressive 22-21 victory over Utah on Saturday night. The Cougars’ win came under controversial circumstances, as Utah was penalized for defensive holding during BYU’s game-winning drive.

Despite Georgia’s current standing, they may not be outside the top ten for long. The Bulldogs will host Tennessee in Week 12, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated games of the week. Tennessee, ranked at No. 6, recently defeated Mississippi State at home, although their quarterback, Nico Iamaleava, missed the second half due to an upper-body injury. Coach Josh Heupel assured fans that Iamaleava’s absence was precautionary and expects him to be ready for the Georgia matchup.

Another SEC showdown will also take place in Week 12, as No. 23 South Carolina hosts No. 24 Missouri. Both teams head into this contest with momentum; South Carolina secured a road win over Vanderbilt, while Missouri defeated Oklahoma 30-23 in a wild game marked by dramatic, late-game fumble recoveries for touchdowns from both teams.
